A native of Lafayette, Louisiana, David is a freelance musician, conductor, teacher, composer, copyist, and editor who has written a variety of different compositions from wind band, orchestra, voice, to film and more.

He has studied Theory and Music Composition at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and studies euphonium under Mr. Scott P. Landry. David also served as principal euphonium in the University Wind Ensemble under Dr. William J. Hochkeppel. After, David obtained the bachelors of Contemporary and Popular Music in Music Composition from the University of Maine at Augusta where he studied under the tutelage of Mr. John Mehrmann (Loud Places - 2017, Honeydew - 2020, No Man’s Land - 2022, Otherside - 2023).

David has been commissioned by local high schools including fight songs for David Thibodeaux STEM Academy (Lafayette, LA) and Northside Christian Academy (Crowley, LA), Dr. Benjamin J. Yates (professor of trombone) at ULL, Algirdas Matonis at Seton University (PA), and Gerald J. Guilbeaux, conductor of the Acadian Wind Symphony (LA). He has also written music for the independent films “Beetles on a Billboard” (CJ Metrejean Productions) and “Gumbo 2” (Caldwell Winn Productions). David has performed all over the US including Carnegie Hall, performed with the Acadian Wind Symphony, Lafayette Concert Band, ULL Community Trombone Choir and Tuba-Euphonium Choir.

As an active performer, David sings tenor for the Cathedral of St John the Evangelist Cathedral Choir (LA) and Chorale Acadienne (LA). He has also performed all over the United States including a performance at Carnegie Hall, sits as principal euphonium with the Acadian Winds Symphony and Lafayette Concert Band.

David’s professional affiliations include Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia, Lafayette Concert Band, Acadian Wind Symphony, St. John the Evangelist, Chorale Acadienne, the American Society for Composers Authors and Publishers (ASCAP), and MusicMakers2U.
